About NCL Pride of America Cruise Tours

Completed in 2005, NCL's Pride of America is the only major America-flagged cruise ship. This unique distinction allows it to sail round-trip from an American port without having to first visit a foreign country. At just over 80,000 tons, the ship can accommodate about 2,150 passengers. The theme of the decor is a celebration of all things U.S.A.

The POA was scheduled for significant updating and refitting in March and April of 2013 to update decor, add a Brazilian restaurant, and create some new solo-traveler cabins and new luxury suites.

As with other NCL ships, there are no set dining times or assigned tables, and passengers are never required to wear formal dress. In addition to the two main dining rooms, restaurants include Lazy J's (steak Hawaiian style), the Jefferson Bistro (French), East Meets West (Asian), and the Cadillac Diner (traditional American casual).

Also onboard are a variety of bars and lounges, a fully-equipped gym, a spas, pools, a water park, kids programs, a casino, and many other recreation options. Note that the American crew provides a different style of service than one would expect to find on a non-US-flagged sailing, as the staff tends to be more casual with passengers. Make sure to adjust your expectations accordingly.
