About NCL Norwegian Epic Cruise Tours

Built in 2010, the Norwegian Epic received major kudos for its revolutionary design. At about 156,000 tons with a passenger capacity of about 4,100 passengers, the Epic was larger than any cruise ship afloat at the time it was built other than Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas mega-ships. As with other NCL ships, there are no set dining times or assigned tables, and passengers are never required to wear formal dress. In fact, the Epic is the first ship to do away with the two main dining rooms, instead replacing them with 21 more-intimate dining options. Options include seafood, a steak house, a French bistro, Asian fusion, Teppanyaki, sushi, Italian, tapas, Brazilian, Chinese fast food, and more. Note that the best onboard restaurants do require additional fees, and advance restaurant reservations are strongly recommended.

The Epic also features some of the most-innovative types of cabins at sea. 128 100-square-foot cabins accommodate solo travelers without charging a "single supplement' fee for traveling alone. At the other end of the spectrum are various villa-style options that include special amenities like butler service and access to certain exclusive areas of the ship where other passengers are not allowed.

The Epic's onboard entertainment has also received a lot of notice, with the shows in the live theater and the comedy club often singled out for special praise.

Also onboard are a variety of bars and lounges, a fully-equipped gym, a spas, pools, a water park, kids programs, a casino, and many other recreation options.
