About Carnival Elation
Carnival Elation
The Ship. Built in 1998 and refurbished in 2009, the Carnival Elation is a member of Carnival's Fantasy Class of cruise ships. At approximately 70,000 tons, she accommodates about 2,050 passengers with a staff-to-passenger ratio of 1-2.. As an older ship, she has fewer balcony cabins and may have fewer amenities than Carnival's more modern ships, cruisers will still find plenty of fun and a variety of entertainment options onboard. Fantasy-class ships tend to sail shorter itineraries, and are often based in cities with fewer cruise options. Despite being older ships, they do feature roomy, 185-square foot standard cabins.
Dining. Dining options are centered around two large, elegant main dining rooms serving breakfast, lunch, dinner; and Lido Deck restaurants serving buffets, 24-hour pizza, as well as lighter fare. 24-hour room service is also provided at no charge. A sushi bar is usually available 5-8 each evening, but times can vary.
Daytime Activities. Water activities aboard the Carnival Elation include two pools, six hot-tubs and three waterslides (including one slide that twists and turns for more than 300 feet!). The adults-only Serenity Deck is a great place to relax and watch the ocean. Duty-free shopping is available onboard, as are other entertaining activities and get-togethers throughout the day. In addition to an Internet cafe, WI-FI is available throughout the ship.
Spa and Fitness. The full-service onboard spa and salon provides a variety of relaxing treatments and therapies. The spa's signature treatment is the Bamboo Massage, where warm bamboo shoots of various sizes that have been soaked in essential oil are used to roll and massage away tension. An outdoor sport court and jogging track are supplemented by a fully-equipped gym that offers weight and cardio equipment as well as fitness classes.
Nighttime Entertainment. Nightlife abounds in a variety of bars and lounges featuring different styles of live music, often including everything from rock to jazz to blues, to an old-fashioned sing-along piano bar and karaoke to a disco pumping out dance music into the wee hours. The grand, multi-tiered theater presents Broadway-style revues featuring the ship's talented cast of singers and dancers, and a large casino offers a variety of games when the ship is at sea. Poker games and tournaments are also staged throughout each voyage.
Kids. The Carnival Elation also offers Camp Carnival, Carnival's renowned kid's program, which keeps kids from 2-11 engaged in play activities as well as movies and pizza parties during the day and even into the evening (for a small fee) to give parents some time alone). Carnivals teen programs provide a fun and safe environment for teenagers to meet other kids their own age for video game tournaments, parties and other activities. A large onboard arcade is also available separate from the kids club areas, and a mini-golf course on the sports deck adds to the fun.
