About Celebrity Solstice

Celebrity Solstice

The Ship. Built in 2008, with minor upgrades 2011, the Celebrity Solstice gives her name to the Solstice class of cruise ships. At about 122,000 tons, she carries approximately 2,800 passengers with a variety of amenities and entertainment options.

The Solstice class of ships is known for its well-designed layouts. These ships are easy for passengers to navigate and always managed to seem uncrowded, even when sailing with every cabin full. Solstice is all about the sun, from its top-deck the solar panels (that contribute to its power plant), to the sun-themed artworks displayed throughout the ship, to the real-grass Lawn Club onboard ship.

Dining. The ship features many different dining options:
The Grand Epernay is the ship's main dining room, and offers both traditional assigned times and seatings, as well as Celebrity Cruises Select Time Dining which allows passengers to choose their exact dining time once onboard the ship.

The Lido Deck hosts includes the Oceanview Cafe, with buffet-style and casual fare options, plus sushi offerings in the evenings.

Murano is a reservations-only, traditional gourmet restaurant featuring such delicacies as Sole Stuffed with Lobster Mousse and Goat Cheese Souffle. This venue charges an additional fee.

Tuscan Grille Restaurant featuring a wide-ranging trattoria-style Italian menu. This includes everything from pastas and salads to seafood and steaks. This venue charges an additional fee.

Silk Harvest is the first Asian restaurant in the Celebrity fleet, offering authentic Asian hospitality perfectly paired with a contemporary blend of Chinese, Japanese, Thai and Vietnamese cuisine. Here you enjoy family-style dining in a warm and friendly setting for an additional charge.

Other snack or lunch options include Cafe a Bacio (serving coffee, tea, and pastries), Bistro on Five (sandwiches, salads and crepes). All items at menu prices. Aqua Spa Cafe offers lighter fare with a focus on healthy eating. Blu is a breakfast and dinner restaurant available only to Celebrity's "AquaClass" guests, serving high-quality but lighter meals (thing steak served with truffle vinaigrette instead of a heavy bearnaise sauce).

Free room service is also available 24 hours a day, and includes pizza delivered to your cabin.

Daytime Activities. A range of activities are available on the Celebrity Solstice. The ship features three pools (one indoor), as well as whirlpool hot tubs. "Celebrity Life" is the name of Celebrity's activity program, encouraging guests to "Taste, Learn, Revive and Play." Passengers can taste during guided wine tastings and cooking classes. Learning includes languages taught via Rosetta Stone software; general computer skills at hosted workshops; and classic dance moves taught at onboard dance classes. "Play" activities include trivia contests and pool games and even dance competitions where passengers are partnered with ships officers to compete. Duty-free shopping is available onboard. An Internet cafe and WI-FI are available as well.

Spa and Fitness. The full-service AquaSpa features saunas and steam rooms, and a vast array of spa treatments, including couples massage suites as well as individual treatment rooms. All of the basic massages and treatments are offered, plus more-exotic procedures including a hot stone/aromatherapy massage, which features heated stones applied to key points of the body, along with traditional massage techniques and warmed aromatherapy oils. The Persian Garden thermal lounge is an inviting, circular area with curved and heated tiled loungers, and a series of aromatherapy showers.

The fitness center is a large modern gym with cardio and resistance equipment that also offers group fitness classes including cycle classes, yoga and Pilates. A running track with spectacular views is also available.

Nighttime Entertainment. A variety of nightlife is available on the Celebrity Solstice. You can attend comedy shows as well as more traditional Broadway-style theater. Bars (including an ice bar!), lounges and dance clubs abound featuring multiple styles of music. A large casino offers a variety of games when the ship is at sea. Poker games and tournaments are also staged throughout each voyage.

Kids.

Celebrity provides kids programs for all ages.

Toddler Time. (For kids under 3). Toddler time allows parents and toddlers to interact with other children their age. Fun Factory Staff members provide suitable toys for this age group, including LeapFrog interactive toys. In accordance with USPH policies and standards, Celebrity has provided each ship with lavatory-based changing tables and baby wipes. Children participating in organized events must be fully potty trained; however, you can accompany your child to any organized activity if they're not.

Fun Factory. Designed exclusively for kids, the Fun Factory is an entertainment center filled with the latest gaming technology. Junior cruises have the opportunity to participate in exciting games, sports, crafts, music, karaoke, treasure hunts, theme parties, movies and lots more. Activities and program are available 9AM-10PM every day.

Shipmates (Ages 3-5): Shipmates must be a minimum of three years old, completely independently toilet-trained and diaper/pull-up free to sign in for Fun Factory programs.

Cadets (Ages 6-8): Activities are based in the Fun Factory. Check your program for times and locations. CadetsSM must be signed in and out of the program by an adult age 18 or over who knows the child's password.

Ensigns (Ages 9-11): Activities are based in the Fun Factory, but frequently use other venues and go on scavenger hunts throughout the ship. Ensigns sign themselves in/out of complimentary programs until 10PM, unless otherwise indicated on their Parental Consent Form. After 10PM, Ensigns require an adult to sign them out of activities.

Tweens/Teens (Ages 12-17) - X-Club Teen Entertainment: For young adults, Celebrity offers the ultimate hangout place for teens, featuring social activities, the newest gaming consoles and titles, sports activities, even teens-only late night dances. All activities are hosted and supervised by Youth Counselors.

The Fun Factory Youth Program offers additional services to accommodate families while the ship is in port and during the evenings:
