From the far northern waters of the Bering Sea to the awe-inspiring peaks of the Glacier Coast, one Cruise West vessel opens wide new horizons to our style of up-close, casual small-ship cruising in Alaska. Our flagship, the oceangoing, 295-foot Spirit of Oceanus, is equipped with stabilizers and can sail all navigable waters, including the open sea. Just 114 guests per sailing will enjoy the comfortable suites and beautifully appointed public areas of Cruise West's most spacious vessel to date. Her English-speaking international crew of 60 provides the highest ratio of crew to guests of any vessel in our fleet. Twelve upper-deck suites each feature a private teak balcony AN ALL-SUITE AURA OF LUXURY AND SPACEAll marble and polished hardwoods, sumptuous fabrics and fine art, the Spirit of Oceanus experience is a feast for all the senses. Every suite is outside, with portholes or a large picture window. Quality details include a large marble vanity and sink, ample storage space, a TV/VCR and a personal refrigerator stocked with complimentary soft drinks and bottled water. Public areas are just as welcoming to guests. Spacious outside viewing areas and walkways are featured on four of the five guest-level decks. An elevator links all floors. Two large lounges, including a grand piano and elegant bar, and several smaller spaces provide havens for conversation, reading, or playing board games. While the Spirit of Oceanus' beautifully appointed Pacifica Dining Room can accommodate all guests at one seating, you are free to choose your own time to dine, and your choice of tablemates. The cuisine is international, with regional specialties such as fresh Alaskan seafood. Up top, the open-air Oasis terrace surrounds a large hot tub. Breakfasts and lunches may be served either al fresco or in the dining room.
