Legend of the Seas
The Ship. Built in 1995 and refurbished in 2013, the Legend of the Seas is a member of the Vision class of cruise ships. At about 70,000 tons, she carries approximately 1,800 passengers with a variety of amenities and entertainment options.
Dining. The Legend of the Seas offers a choice of eateries. The main dining room offers both traditional assigned times and seatings, as well My Time Dining where cruisers can pick their dining time and change their reservations daily. In addition to the Lido Deck buffets, diners can also make reservations for Giovani’s Table (which serves family-style Italian food), and Chops Grille (a traditional steakhouse). Chef’s Table offers a high-end, five-course meal with wine parings, where each course is presented by a sommelier and a chef,. Sushi as well as other seafood options are available at Izumi. All of these dining venues charge additional fees. Park Café feature more-casual fare at no charge, and treats are available at Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream. Free room service is also available most of the day (with a small charge during the wee hours).
Daytime Activities. A wide range of activities are available on the Legend of the Seas. These include miniature golf, as well as a huge outdoor movie screen and a rock-climbing wall. The ship features one outdoor and one indoor, adults-only pool, as well as four whirlpool hot tubs. Duty-free shopping is available onboard, as are other entertaining activities and get-togethers throughout the day. An Internet cafe and Wi-Fi are available as well. Royal Connect Phones (available for a small fee) help passengers stay in touch with each other on board, and even help parents track their kids’ whereabouts.
Spa and Fitness. The full-service Vitality at Sea Spa features saunas and steam rooms, and a fine selection of spa treatments, including couples massage suites and individual treatment rooms. All of the basic massages and treatments are offered, plus more-exotic procedures including 24-karat gold facials, Botox injections, acupuncture and teeth whitening. Sports and exercise opportunities include a full-sized basketball court and a running track. The fitness center includes a large gym with cardio and resistance equipment; as well as group fitness classes, including cycling, kickboxing, yoga and Pilates.
Nighttime Entertainment. The Legend of the Seas has an abundance of nightlife. Legend of the Seas. You can attend standup comedy shows and Broadway-style theater. Bars, lounges and dance clubs feature varied styles of music. Voyagers can try their luck at the ship’s large casino when the ship is at sea. Poker games and tournaments are also staged throughout each voyage.

The complimentary, award-winning Adventure Ocean® Youth Program is let led by accredited, experienced counselors with four-year degrees in education, recreation or a related field. Onboard, kids aren’t just kids. They’re inquisitive scientists exploring the insect world, eye-patched pirates, or the next great athlete to take the gold at the Wacky Olympics. With interactive programs and activities designed just for their age group, Adventure Ocean gives kids the chance to imagine themselves embarking on a whole new adventure.
Teens and Tweens
The teen and tween program (12-14 and 14-17) isn’t a structured set of classes or rules — these almost adults deserve a vacation all their own. Kids can join pre-planned events throughout the day or simply hang out in teen-only spaces — with Adventure Ocean staff who keep the good times coming. Activities include rock climbing, dodgeball, video game tournaments, barbecues, movie nights, talent shows and even a DJ Academy.
Kids and teens can enjoy activities into the late evening with extended hours in the Adventure Ocean and teen-only spaces. An hourly rate applies after 10 p.m.
