The Ship. Built in 2003 and refurbished in 2012, the Serenade of the Seas is a member of the Radiance class of cruise ships. At about 90,000 tons, she carries approximately 2,150 passengers with a large variety of amenities and entertainment options.
Dining. The Serenade of the Seas offers a satisfying selection of eateries. The main dining room offers both traditional assigned times and seatings, as well My Time Dining where cruisers can pick their dining time and change their reservations daily. In addition to the Lido Deck buffets, diners can also make reservations for Giovani's Table (which serves family-style Italian food) and Chops Grille (a traditional steakhouse). Chef's Table offers a high-end, five-course meal with wine parings, where each course is presented by a sommelier and a chef, Rita's serves Mexican fare in a lively atmosphere with music and dancing. Sushi as well as other seafood options are available at Izumi. All of these dining venues charge additional fees. The Park Cafe features more-casual fare at no charge. Free room service is also available most of the day (with a small charge during the wee hours).
Daytime Activities. Many different activities are available on the Serenade of the Seas. These include miniature golf and a huge outdoor movie screen and a rock-climbing wall. The ship features two outdoor pools (including a kids pool with waterslide) and one indoor pool, as well as three hot tubs. Duty-free shopping is available onboard, as are other entertaining activities and get-togethers throughout the day. An Internet cafe and Wi-Fi are available as well. Royal Connect Phones (available for a small fee) help passengers stay in touch with each other on board, and even help parents track their kids' whereabouts.
Spa and Fitness. The full-service Vitality at Sea Spa features saunas and steam rooms, and a fine selection of spa treatments, including couples massage suites and individual treatment rooms. All of the basic massages and treatments are offered, plus more-exotic procedures including 24-karat gold facials, Botox injections, acupuncture and teeth whitening. Sports and exercise opportunities include a full-sized basketball court and a running track. The fitness center includes a large gym with cardio and resistance equipment, as well as group fitness classes, including cycling, kickboxing, yoga and Pilates.
Nighttime Entertainment. of the Seas has an abundance of nightlife. Serenade of the Seas. You can attend standup comedy shows as well as a more traditional Broadway-style theater. Bars, lounges and dance clubs feature varied styles of music. Voyagers can try their luck at the ship's large casino when the ship is at sea. Poker games and tournaments are also staged throughout each voyage.

The complimentary, award-winning Adventure Ocean® Youth Program is let led by accredited, experienced counselors with four-year degrees in education, recreation or a related field. Onboard, kids aren't just kids. They're scientists exploring the insect world, eye-patched pirates, or the next great athlete to take the gold at the Wacky Olympics. With interactive programs and activities designed just for their age group, Adventure Ocean gives kids the chance to imagine themselves embarking on a whole new adventure.
The teen and tween program (12-14 and 14-17) isn't a structured set of classes or rules - these almost adults deserve a vacation all their own. Kids can join pre-planned events throughout the day or simply hang out in teen-only spaces - with Adventure Ocean staff who keep the good times coming. Activities include rock climbing, dodgeball, video game tournaments, barbecues, movie nights, talent shows and even a DJ Academy.
Kids and teens can enjoy activities into the late evening with extended hours in the Adventure Ocean and teen-only spaces. An hourly rate applies after 10 p.m.
