Just the most wonderful experience!, January 11, 2014
Reviewer: Happiness

Pros: Attention to detail, great crew

Cons: Just wish wi-fi was less expensive!

Date of cruise: October 1, 2012

Departure port: Fort Lauderdale

Region visited: South America

Cabin category: Balcony

Elegant dressing we feel is a must. Gentlemen required to wear a jacket most evenings is the way it should be in our opinion. Luckily a blazer will suffice for most men.

We travel with carry-on luggage only! In this, a blazer and a tuxedo and fancy evening dress for me are included! Our longest cruise on Sojourn has only been 31 days around South America. Next one is 27 days.

We were transferred from the Pride and were in our cabin by 10:30 and it was nice to see the captain and other officers meet all passengers when they boarded and with 450 passengers this was possible. We were on the yacht for 28 days from Rome's port to Copenhagen after seeing St.Petersburg and Norway.

With four places to eat at night there were plenty of choices: The Restaurant, Restaurant 2, The Patio Grill and the Colonnade.

One drawback was that you had to wear a jacket to eat in the Restaurant most nights and many of the passengers I talked to did not like having to wear jackets every night

We found the Patio Grill as the best place to eat and it was the best place to take photos while leaving various ports. Sometimes is was cold and staff always provided blankets, but the food was great.

The Seabourn Square on Deck 7 is a lovely place, because of the library, coffee shop and large places to relax inside and outside on the balcony. There are many decks where you can relax.

For us, the Sojourn was a better ship that the Pride as it had more space to relax and most cabins had large balconies.

The ship was very nice, the staff excellent, the food somewhat disappointing, October 3, 2010
Reviewer: brucaro

Pros: The friendly staff was wonderful even though no one did know our names

Cons: We were disappointed with the food, not great choices in the dining room

Date of cruise: September 12, 2010

Region visited: Scandinavia

The ship being new was in wonderful shape, clean, well taken care of, etc. The suites were large, bright and well appointed. Loved the bathroom with its double sinks, separate shower and tub and very well lit. The walk-in closet was a godsend and there was tremendous amount of drawer space everywhere in the cabin. All in all, a terrific space.

The staff were amazing, especially our cabin stewardess. Nothing was too much for her. She even knocked on our door one evening to tell us it was going to be a rough sea and to remember to drink lots of ginger ale and to wear our sea bands.

The food was okay. In the buffet it was always the same old thing and the fresh fruit was not up to par. The dining room had a lot fewer choices than other cruise lines and vegetables were seldom served with your meals. The salads were so-so but the best things were the delicious bread sticks.

Restaurant 2 was a wonderful treat with great food and a lot of fun. Not to be missed.

Although there was a pool and hot tubs there was no retractable roof so if it rained or was cool or cold you certainly did not feel like using either of them. Too bad.

The evening shows were the usual cruise ship fare. The singers sang their hearts out and the rest were nothing to write home about.

All in all, we enjoyed our trip very much and we will probably return to Seabourn but there are other cruise lines we enjoy more.
