When my husband and I were planning our trip to Europe we knew that we wanted to see Italy and Greece. We decided that doing a cruise out of Italy was the best way to see both. There were so many bad reviews for MSC, but after looking into each one, you could tell that the complaints were so meaningless. We went ahead and booked it anyways and we are SO happy that we did! They run like a well oiled machine. We never had to wait to embark/disembark and at any ports, even at the beginning or end of the cruise. We were apprehensive about the short time at the ports, but we never felt rushed at any of them. The food was so good. They had a 4-5 course meal every night with a few options for each course. You could pick and choose what you wanted and there was always an option that everyone liked. Each night would have a theme such as Rome or Palermo and the dishes were based around that. Being from the U.S., we loved being able to try different things from different regions. The only complaint I have is that the people cruising with us were so rude. The buffet line would make me so angry! Everyone is rushing around/cutting people off/pushing each other around. You would wait in line and a worker would hand you a plate/silverware right before you got to the food and people would push into you and try to get their plates early....even though they would pass by the worker eventually anyways. Perhaps we just do things differently in the U.S. The workers were friendly and very hardworking, I'm not sure where all the bad reviews come from about that. Overall, we had an amazing time and would definitely do an MSC cruise again in the future!

Big diappointment, October 2, 2010
Reviewer: jcakbulut
Pros: None
Cons: Food was as bad as the management
Date of cruise: September 19, 2010
Departure port: Venice
Region visited: Mediterranean
Cabin category: Suite
Cabin number: 15018
Customer service is horrible. Don't expect what you see in US cruise lines. Managers are there not to solve your problems but keep the business running as much as possible. Employees are not trained well. It was a shock for me to see the worst cruise management ever. A small reminder: Do not expect tea/coffee after dinner or open buffet all the time. No more MSC for me.
