Not what it used to be!, January 29, 2015
Reviewer: jenl31
Pros: The itinerary was the reason for going on this ship!
Cons: Expensive!
Date of cruise: January 16, 2015
Departure port: Ft. Lauderdale
Region visited: Caribbean - Southern
Cabin category: Balcony
Cabin number: 6143
Good for children: No
Good for teenagers: No
Sailed many times on Celebrity and have actually sailed two previous times on Constellation, however, this time this ship fell way below our expectations. Service was not what it used to be from our room steward to our main dining room server. Food was OK but really below expectations in main dining room. In the specialty restaurants, food and service were excellent. We truly paid a premium for this cruise and were really disappointed right down to the fact that you no longer receive "evening chocolates" on your pillow. We received them on one evening (a formal night) and thought we would receive them on the second formal night. We were mistaken! Bar staff is nowhere near as friendly or attentive as previously. We can only guess that it is because with "automatic" gratuities they no longer "care"! What a shame!

Better than average cruise experience but not a great one, December 23, 2010
Reviewer: cruisefritz
Pros: Good overall value and decent cruise quality
Cons: Too many relatively high extra-charge items and services
Date of cruise: December 4, 2010
Departure port: Ft Lauderdale
Region visited: Caribbean - Southern
Cabin category: Jr. Suite
Cabin number: 6117
Good for children: Yes
Good for teenagers: No
If you don't use many of nor mind paying extra for additional items or services that are not part of the basic room rate and standard dining and entertainment offerings, then a Celebrity cruise would be a good option for you. If, on the other hand, you hate to be "nickel and dimed" for almost everything extra as well as to be constantly solicited for additional charge items and services, then you would be better off with one of the more upscale cruise lines that include more than the bare basics.

Pros: Ship's layout and Spa Cafe were my favorites.
Cons: Showing wear but understand it is in dry dock getting a makeover. Can't wait.

Departure port: Miami

Been on this ship three times and three other Celebrity ships. Easily my favorite line for the amenities, layout and friendly crew. Can't wait to see Constellation after its makeover this summer. Sailing next January on Celebrity's new Eclipse. Excited about this.
