Family and Multigenerational Cruising
Have you started thinking about this summer’s family vacation yet? Families really can have it all: Well-designed, child-friendly programs and amenities, paired with adult dining, accommodation and entertainment options … all in one place. That’s the beauty of today’s cruise experience.
In fact, multi-generational trips (with kids, parents and grandparents) are becoming increasingly popular because of the variety of activities and amenities available on today’s ships. With something for everyone, families can participate in activities together – but aren’t obligated to “stay the course” together for an entire vacation.
With multigenerational cruises in mind, we’re very pleased to share a travel diary from Bob Levinstein, CruiseCompete CEO, as he reports on his recent family cruise aboard the NCL Epic. “Would this ship be able to keep all of us happy? My mother in her 70’s, my wife and I in our 40’s and our 7-year-old son…” More…

Shore Excursion, Questions, Answers and Ideas
Is there a risk I'll miss the ship if I don't book through the cruise line?
No. Although the cruise lines would like you to believe that independent tours carry this risk, all of our tour operators are well aware of your ship's departure time, and our tours are designed to get you back to the ship with time to spare. One of our tour developers worked onboard cruise ships for 16 years, and not once did a passenger on one of his sailings miss the ship because an independent tour was late getting back to the ship. In the extremely unlikely event you were to miss the ship due to one of our tours, we guarantee that we will pay the full cost of your meals, hotel and transportation to the next port of call, and we will handle all of your arrangements for you.
Shore Excursion of the Week:
Exclusive Santorini, Oia and Winery Tour
Your tour will take you to the major must-see sites on the island. Depending on traffic the day of your tour, the order you see the sites may vary from the tour description order. One of your stops will be at the village of Oia, located at the northern tip of the island. As you travel along, you will see the different layers of lava the volcano had produced making a time line of the island's history. Oia offers magnificent views of the caldera and the rest of the other islands. Depending on the time of day, the sun paints the cliffs with different shades of color and light like an ever-changing landscape painting. Perhaps this is one of the reasons that Oia attracts so many artists. With its cobble stone streets, beautiful old mansions and houses perched on the cliff side, you can admire the traditional Cycladic architecture for which Santorini is so well known.
From Oia, you will travel across the terraced island, through Pyrgos village and make your way up to the highest peak of Santorini, Mt. Profitis Ilias (883 feet). Here a monastery of the same name was built in 1712. Although you cannot enter the monastery, you can enjoy its magnificent view of the entire island from the south end of Perissa Beach to the north part of the island were Oia village is situated.
After the photo stop, you will drive to one of the local wineries on the island. Here you can learn about how wines were once produced on the island, as well as learning of the unique way in which grapes are grown and harvested on Santorini. You will be able to sample three of the most famous wines of Santorini.
