A Special Up Close & Personal Report from Kimberly Button who recently sailed on the very lovely Esperance, belonging to France Cruises:

Could I possibly adjust to the slow paced nature of a canal barge cruise? That was the big question as we embarked on the Esperance, a hotel barge that sails through the
Midi Canal in the south of France. After several months of fast-paced travel where other people and impersonal companies were always dictating my…………. More……….

Regent Seven Seas Cruises:  4.83 out of 5….We have sailed on Voyager and Mariner and have only positive things to say about Regent Seven Seas Cruises. The ships are lovely, the service is outstanding, the food is 6-star, the cabins are lovely, and you know from the very beginning exactly how much the cruise is going to cost. It is an outstanding experience. More……

Crystal Cruises:  4.9 out of 5…….The Serenity is a wonderful ship. The rooms are spacious and up to date. The service is incredible. The staff works hard to say yes to all of your requests. The food is great, particularly at the Silk Road restaurant.
The entertainment is fabulous, and the sea days were some of the best days on the boat.

All about Azamara Club Cruises:
The atmosphere and experience:
For those interested in immersion into other cultures, this boutique line is filled with pampering options, e.g., spa, fine cuisine, exotic wines and wellness programs. The line is all-inclusive and includes such amenities as specialty coffees and bottled waters, all within a warm country club type of atmosphere.
The destinations:
Carrying just 694 guests each, Azamara ships are able to maneuver into smaller towns and villages where the larger ships may not go. Azamara sails around the world from Asia, Northern and Western Europe, the Caribbean, the Black Sea, the Mediterranean, plus Asia and limited Transatlantic cruises. Both the Azamara Quest and the Azamara Journey are known for their longer stays in exotic ports of call and overnights in those ports for concentrated exploration of the cities and villages visited.
The clientele:
Mostly well-traveled, mature couples; not well suited for small children. Evenings are spent in cozy bars with piano music or reading in your luxurious cabins.
While the Azamara does welcome guests of all ages, no formal children’s programs or facilities are onboard its ships. Minimum age requirement to sail Azamara is 6 months; there are such exceptions as Transoceanic cruises/cruise tours, as well as other select cruises/cruise tours, where children must be at least 1 year old.
