BABYMOONS AND CRUISE LINE RULES FOR YOUR PRE-BABY ROMANTIC GETAWAY FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DETROIT (January 8, 2010) - Babymoon - a vacation designed for expectant parents - provides a well-timed and much-needed respite from the pre-baby schedule. It's an opportunity to relax before your lives are changed forever by the arrival of your new bundle of joy.

One caution: the cruise lines have pregnancy travel guidelines in place, so plan carefully. The guidelines have recently changed on many lines. Most now require that a pregnant passenger be less than 24 weeks gestation upon completion of the cruise, down from the previous industry standard of 27 weeks. Be certain of your cruise line's policy, and be sure to check it again before departure, so as not to be foiled by interim changes.

There are plenty of options for a fantastic escape, and the specialists at CruiseCompete.com suggest these great cruises:

SeaDream Yacht Club: SeaDream's Barbados to San Juan itinerary on the SeaDream I is a fantastic option. The cruise, departing March 14, 2010, is tops for those sophisticated couples whose objective is luxury, and lots of it. Based on pure romance, the owner's suite is the crème-de-la-crème choice on these vessels. The 195 square-foot stateroom features fine linens, flat screen televisions and a huge shower-for-two in the marvelous windowed bathroom. SeaDream also offers a lounge with Balinese beds.

Note: At time of booking you must inform SeaDream in writing, of pregnancy or any other condition for which you or any other person in your care may require medical attention or special accommodation during the cruise. If any such condition arises after you have booked the cruise, you must report the condition to the cruise line, in writing, as soon as you become aware of it. Pregnant guests who have entered their 24th week of pregnancy prior to the commencement or during the voyage will not be permitted to embark.

Princess: Princess Cruises presents a relaxing 10-day cruise that, among other stops, visits Princess Cays, Grenada and Aruba. The Southern Caribbean Medley cruise, on the Ruby Princess, sails March 20, 2010. The amenities on this ship surely speak to the couple; among the best, the Grand Suite, which features a separate sitting area and extended balcony that runs between living room and bedroom. Take part in a night at "Movies Under the Stars," or lounge in The Sanctuary - a relaxing retreat, complete with waiter service, spa menu and massage services.

Note: Princess's policy is that pregnant women are not allowed to sail if they are entering the 24th week of their pregnancy by the last day of the cruise. All pregnant women in their second trimester are required to produce a physician's letter stating that mother and baby are in good health, fit to travel and the pregnancy is not high-risk. The letter must also include the estimated date of delivery and ultrasound (if performed).

Royal Caribbean: RCI offers a romantic itinerary that visits France, Italy, and Spain and more on its 7- Night Mediterranean Cruise, sailing April 3, 2010. Splendour of the Seas departs Barcelona on April 3, 2010. RCI also offers various "Romance Packages" that can be included for an additional cost. Enhance this amazing voyage with chocolates, non-alcoholic champagne, roses, breakfast in bed, and more!

Note: Royal Caribbean International cannot accept guests who will have entered their 24th week of pregnancy by the beginning of or at any time during the cruise or cruise tour. A physician's "Fit to Travel" note is required prior to sailing.

These options are just a sampling of the cruises available for the perfect babymoon. For more information on these cruises and many others, please visit CruiseCompete.com.
