Major CruiseCompete Milestone
The last week in February saw the one millionth cruise quote go through the
CruiseCompete system. The request was for an Alaska cruise, and the quote
was issued by agent Mike Ellington of Cruise Vacation Outlet. Mike has been
helping travelers buy cruises for more than twelve years, and has been
active in CruiseCompete almost since our inception.
One million quotes in a little over two years represents a huge amount of
work from a our member-travel agents, and we wanted to take a minute to
thank them for all of their efforts. Without their ongoing work, there
would be no CruiseCompete.
We'd also like to thank you, our members, for your support as well.
CruiseCompete was designed for people who love to cruise. Fortunately for
us, you also tend to want to share this passion and your knowledge with
others, including your experiences with CruiseCompete. Most of our growth
is through personal recommendations from our members, and for this we owe
you a tremendous debt. Thank you all, and please keep spreading the word.
A quick word on SPAM filters.
With the flood of junk e-mails getting worse every day, SPAM filters are
necessary to keep your e-mail useful. However, these filters can get
over-aggressive and block legitimate e-mails as well. Recently we've seen a
lot of misunderstandings where members have been upset about not receiving
replies to e-mails and booking confirmations, when the information was
sent-it just ended up in the member's "junk" or "bulk" e-mail box, or was
blocked altogether. This seems to be especially an issue among AOL
users, but other members have experienced it as well.
Please be aware of this possibility if you don't get expected replies.
Remember to check your "bulk" mail box, and follow-up by phone if necessary.
