2. Compagnie du Ponant, a French company recently opened a U.S. office, is introducing a new $150 million mega-yacht, the 264-guest Le Boreal, this spring. The 466-foot mega-yacht was built at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy. A sister ship, L'Austral, will debut in spring 2011. More......

4. Cruises to Antarctica to Become Scare This week, the International Maritime Organization banned the use of heavy fuel oil ships sailing in Antarctica. This means beginning August 1, 2011, most large cruise ships will be banned from sailing in Antarctica. Current projections say that the number of cruise passengers traveling to Antarctic waters will drop from 15,531 in this past season to 6,400 once the ban is in place. More.....
